Julius Meinl on Vienna’s Graben A visual and culinary treat
After several months of renovation work, the traditional Viennese gourmet food store Julius Meinl on the prestigious Graben in Vienna will present itself from 22nd October 2021 as an even more refined gourmet temple in the middle of Vienna's exclusive pedestrian zone. umdasch The Store Makers was responsible for the shopfitting in line with a concept developed by the architects Bernhard Hamann and Christian Politsch. The result: an elegant delicatessen shop that delights gourmets and interior enthusiasts alike.
Expo Dubai 2020: The desert is green
Expos – or World Fairs – have been synonymous with the most innovative and creative architectural designs throughout their history. It is the Expos that gave Paris its Eiffel Tower and Seattle its Space Needle, and Dubai is hoping to follow in their footsteps with the Middle East’s first Expo, which has been focusing entirely on sustainability since 1 October. Supplying the shopfit for all its official stores, plus displays and retail systems for a host of the US and Australian pavilions, umdasch has been heavily immersed in making Dubai Expo a sustainable festival of place.
Bründl opens the most sustainable sports store in the Alps – Green shopfitting supplied by umdasch
The waters of the Kapruner Ache rush past behind the building, and the Kitzsteinhorn and Schmittenhöhe peaks are just close by. Following its renovation and extension, from 1 October 2021 the flagship store of Bründl Sports in Kaprun will present itself as an ultra-modern architectural jewel against the backdrop of the Salzburg mountains. Everything is in harmony with nature, and sustainability is anchored at the very heart of the DNA of the lifestyle store. The shopfitting and digital solutions were implemented by umdasch The Store Makers in line with a concept developed by the regular architects blocher partners.
The umdasch Liquid Dispenser – Refilling as a sustainable success format for the PoS
umdasch strips off – with a specially developed refilling system that combines environmental protection and digital software solutions. The liquid dispenser is serious about saving CO2 and reducing plastic waste and is also IoT-capable (Internet of Things). Now a calculation has proven that within a very short space of time it also undercuts conventional disposable off-the-shelf bottles with regard to its carbon footprint.
Doka at the Expo in Dubai
After a one-year postponement, the Expo 2020 will open its doors in Dubai for six months starting on 1 October 2021. Doka will be there, presenting itself with digital solutions and an exhibit to a public of millions in the Austrian Pavilion.
Lochweidli Tunnel – the overall package scores
Construction is underway on a tunnel as part of a bypass to relieve traffic for communities in Toggenburg in Switzerland. For Doka’s formwork experts the conditions of this particular project have been a baptism of fire for their new, rentable Tunnel system DokaMT.
PORR and Doka establish industry solution for digital construction logistics
Vienna/Amstetten, 09.09.2021 - PORR, Austria's second largest construction group, together with Doka, a company of the Umdasch Group, are founding a joint venture to establish a mutual construction logistics platform to digitise and optimise processes related to ordering, delivery and invoicing processes. The stated aim: “construction logistics - connected & connecting”. The initiative is set to undertake pioneering work for the entire European market. The focus in the first stage is on the most complex of construction materials: in-situ concrete.
