Taipei – In the north of Taiwan the ChinPaoSan Necropolis cemetery is being extended by the construction of two impressive buildings - an arrival hall and a pavilion. Along with many urn tombs, in future the cemetery will also feature hotel, auditorium, museums and amphitheatre. The most notable architectural element is the Oceanic Pavilion, which combines pools of water with monumental, half cutaway spherical surfaces.

So far, the more than 4,000 products of the furnishing company with Scandinavian roots have been displayed with printed price tags in more than 1,300 branches in Germany and the six foreign markets of Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy, Spain and Portugal. In 2019, the branch network will gradually be converted to electronic and centrally controlled price tags, which will also provide additional digital retail functionalities.

The Hamburg Port Authority (HAP), the agency responsible for the infrastructure of the Port of Hamburg, wants to improve the flow of traffic across the Süderelbe River by building the New Kattwyk Railway Bridge. For the construction of the bridge piers, Max Bögl and Doka are relying on an unconventional formwork design: Once the casting section is cured, it’s not the formwork that is moved but the actual piece of the pier that was poured. This process requires construction of the bridge pier not from the bottom up but more or less from the top down.
Doka creates added value with BIM

In this context, Building Information Modelling (BIM) is definitely one of the main factors influencing the construction industry. Reopening of Eurotrade Munich – Shopfitting by umdasch
The duty-free area Eurotrade Munich at Terminal 2 of Munich Airport reopened in December after a complete redesign. The design bureau Gruschwitz, based in the hometown of the airport, has developed the store design, which was implemented by umdasch The Store Makers.
With combined forces
From 08 to 14 April 2019, bauma, the world's largest construction machinery equipment trade fair will once again be opening its doors. Under the heading "Our contribution to increase productivity on the construction site", the Doka Campus will be presenting the most recent products, services and innovations from the world of formwork on a 4,700 m² booth. Booth FN.420 located in the open-air north/west area is where visitors can experience all the new features and solutions of productivity increase in every aspect of formwork engineering.
FaceGym expands in London – the shopfitting by umdasch
"A workout for the face" is the claim of FaceGym and thus explains in a few words the concept of the premium cosmetics brand. At the end of November 2018, FaceGym expanded its stores with two stores at prominent addresses in London. The individual, high-quality furnishings were made for both stores by umdasch The Store Makers. Both St. John's Wood High Street and the vibrant Coal Drops Yard shopping district are some of London's hip spots in the premium segment. FaceGym has now opened new branches at both locations - with one thing in common: exclusive shopfitting, made by umdasch.
Performance for power plant construction
Renewable energy is the big growth sector in the power-generation industry. The International Energy Agency (IAE) forecasts that in 2023, renewables will generate almost 30 % of total electricity demand, compared to a figure of 24 % for 2017. Hydropower remains the biggest single source of renewable energy, covering 16 % (by 2023) of worldwide electricity demand, followed by wind farms (6 %), solar (4 %) and bioenergy (3 %). The fashion company ETERNA opened in November a new branch in the prominent Kaiserstraße in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. The surface, façade and light planning comes together with the shopfitting and the assembly of umdasch The Store Makers.
Hartlauer Villach: Redesign with umdasch
On November 29, Hartlauer opened his completely remodeled store in Villach, Carinthia. umdasch was responsible for all services, from planning to shopfitting to digital solutions – and there was no stone unturned. The store impresses with a new generation in store construction from Hartlauer: For the first time, the specialist shop relies on open presentation of goods instead of showcases, including state-of-the-art technology.
Queen Elizabeth 2: umdasch realised retail space on historic cruiser
The cruise ship Queen Elisabeth 2 has completed 1,400 cruises in its lifetime, covered some 6 million nautical miles and entertained nearly 2.5 million passengers. Meanwhile, the 1967 built ship serves as a popular attraction in the port of Dubai. No ship symbolizes the importance and ingenuity of maritime engineering and craftsmanship as much as the QE2 - a role model for design, innovation and speed. Adhering to these maxims, the Store Makers from umdasch manufactured the equipment for the 400 square meter retail space on the cruise liner. The solid concept comes from Retail Concepts Design, Dubai.
A Stroll Through the Kingdom of the Caliph
Between 11 and 15 November 2018, more than 25 retailers, architects and trend scouts found inspiration in the desert metropolises of Dubai and Abu Dhabi within the framework of the umdasch Shop Academy study expedition. Their sight-seeing programme took in numerous shopping malls and outdoor retail concepts, together with the sources of shop dramaturgy such as the traditional “Gold Souk”. The content of the tour was put together by the two retail trend scouts Christian Mikunda and Denise Mikunda-Schulz. The shopping miles, promenades and experience concepts of the United Arab Emirates impress with casual street-art flair and perfectly staged theme settings. In the evenings spectators are drawn to many shopping malls by the spectacular water gardens combined with media shows at the highest level.
Refilling instead of Recycling

umdasch takes stake in start-up “Jingle”
In September 2018, the international shopfitting company umdasch The Store Makers signed an investment deal with the Viennese start-up Jingle. With a digital marketplace for brick-and-mortar retailers, users will be able to easily view and compare all products and related information, pricing and availability from surrounding retailers on their smartphones - starting on November 12, Jingle will launch the beta version of the trailblazing program.

Bettenrid Munich: everything new with umdasch
Bettenrid sees itself as a traditional house for good sleep and is represented in Germany with three branches, one in Frankfurt and two in Munich. The store in the Theatiner Street in Munich will be completely renovated in the next few years in the context of a master concept: The store Makers umdasch are responsible as a general contractor for shopfitting and could now awaken the basement of the old villa from sleep.
Hirmer: New furniture for the traditional fashion house in Munich
The facade of the main building of Hirmer, decorated with numerous geraniums, offers tourists a popular photo opportunity in the bustling „Kaufingerstraße” in Munich. Visitors to all over the world have also been welcomed in the business for over 100 years - now in an ambience with high-quality interiors by umdasch The Store Makers, designed by the architecture bureau Gruschwitz.

Eyiste Viaduct
Konya, Turkey – Formwork expertise from Doka is much in demand right now for construction of the country’s highest viaduct. With piers up to 155 metres tall, the Eyiste Viaduct will be the connecting link between Central Anatolia and Turkey’s Mediterranean region, shortening travel time between the cities of Konya and Alanya.
