Doka cantilevering for super-slim piers
Doka’s formwork expertise is currently in demand during the construction of one of the busiest motorway viaducts in Germany. The Lahntal bridge located in Limburg dates back to the early nineteen-sixties and is 400-metre long. Every day about 100,000 vehicles cross the valley of the River Lahn on the viaduct. Its traffic load has increased sharply, so a new bridge is being built sited just a few metres west of the old viaduct.

Doka to form in a double star system.
A one-of-a-kind cast-in-place structure is currently under way near Munich: the ESO Supernova Planetarium and Visitors Centre. The building's cubature takes its cue from a narrow double star system. The architecture of the construction project is characterised by inclinations up to 23 degrees and demands the ultimate in artful engineering from contractor and formwork supplier.

Doka Formwork at Hydroelectric Plant in Icy North
In the construction of the 824 MW Muskrat Falls hydroelectric power station in Labrador, Canada, extreme cold is a particular challenge. Temperatures as low as -40°C are not uncommon at the site. These conditions require accuracy and expertise at the highest level in terms of planning and implementation. To meet these challenges, Doka is providing the formwork solutions and is setting new standards with its innovative Concremote system.
Underwater tunnel to facilitate traffic flow
Doka know-how helps build the world's tallest buildings and is much in demand on tunnel projects as well. A build-in-progress at depths of 26 m below the surface of the sea, the Second Midtown Tunnel now nearing completion will be another connecting link between the cities of Norfolk and Portsmouth in the state of Virginia, USA. The immersed tunnel consists of eleven individual sections pre-cast in the Baltimore dry dock and then towed some 320 km south into the Elizabeth River for immersion on site.

The training in the Doka Forum in Amstetten has paid off for Michael Haydn and Alexander Hiesberger: The both Austrian young formwork engineers from the company Strabag won the gold medal at the “World Skills 2015” in the “Concrete Construction Work” category.
Linking the Islands. Lusail pedestrian bridges, Qatar
In 2005 Qatar has started a new city development project. Located on the coast and in the northern part of Doha, will soon to become a new city with waterways and man-made islands and modern structures. Formwork engineering experts are needed to connect the islands: Doka was hired to supply pre-assembled formwork materials for two pedestrian bridges spanning 90 and 100 m channels separating the islands. Doing so will save the builder time and money.
Large-scale project on minuscule footprint
Aquis Plaza shopping centre to be built in the heart of Aachen pedestrian zone. In terms of architectural features and urban development, the mega-project is expected to be carefully integrated into the character of the organically developed city centre. X – the new international hub in Abu Dhabi
The Midfield Terminal Complex at Abu Dhabi International Airport is currently one of the Emirate's most impressive construction projects. At the same time it represents the core of the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030. Once completed, the expected number of passengers processed at the complex is between 27 and 40 million annually. Doka is on-site with its high-performing formwork systems to support the air traffic hub expansion.
Premiere: Heavy-duty bracket HDC for pier heads
Currently, the 46.6 km Western High Speed Diameter is the largest infrastructure project in St. Petersburg, Russia. The highway will create a quick connection between the northern and southern parts of the city and the Vasilievsky Island and improve traffic conditions. At the centre of the project is the 620 m long bridge across the Korabelny channel. Doka is the supplier of an efficient and easily adaptable formwork solution for constructing both pylons and main piers.
